Gear Up For 2009 With Apple

Seems through its messages Apple really able to entice people to remember and consider its line of product during this holiday session.

From iPod to iPhone to MacBook, to iMac, Apple had all these fascinating line up of products to grab.

Within 10 years, Steve Jobs has really done a great job of reviving Apple back, and make it once again the de facto leader in both marketing, design and product innovation (software + hardware + services).

For all of what he had done, Steve Jobs is truly magically awesome!

How Our Lives Being -- Fascinatingly -- Digitized ...

We live in interesting era whereby everything is being digitized. Not only our documents, mail and work being transformed digital, everyday our lives also increasingly being digitized.

The 'jogging shoe' from Nike for example. Nike equipped it with a digital sensor that keeps track of our movement. As we workout outdoor, walking, running, the system record and keep track of our everything for us, and store it inside the attached iPod that the sensors are connected to.

Once we are back and connected, a 'smart software on the internet' will process these data and information, and will provide us feedback regarding our progress from one workout to the next.

Imagine what would be possible later on in the area of business and personal efficiency, productivity, mobility and effectiveness. Such development would be truly awesome!

Happy Holidays (From Apple) ... Cool!

Happy Holidays (From Apple). Fascinating website experience and gesture from Apple, during the holiday season!

Compare this to the lame, boring, dorky "I'm a PC" campaign, with their meaningless accessories and stuff. It's incomparable.

I guess "cool" really happens when company is really cool, NOT when they tried (too hard) to become cool!

Happy holidays everyone!

Where Does Microsoft Fit In ?

Perhaps 'now' is one of the most challenging era for Microsoft.

At the front-end (cool consumer device, mobile internet front-end, portable client computer, smart phone) they are facing Apple, at the back-end (search, cloud computing, internet ad business) they are facing Google.

How would Microsoft fit-in, into the groundbreaking computing trend of the future? Or are we start seeing the early sign of the 'possible birth' of the 'next dinosaur' ??

Some 'thinking slides' attached:

Where_Does_Microsoft_Fits_In.zip (392 KB)

Quick draft narration to the slides:

  • Slide 1: There's change coming, and everybody have to relook their option.
  • Slide 2: Yet, dinosaurs (tend to) persist, they said the 'meteor' is not coming.
  • Slide 3: Microsoft might seriously need to change the world once more, if not they are doomed.
  • Slide 4: Apple is a great possible option.
  • Slide 5: Google + Apple is even a bigger, greater possible option, ever!

How would Microsoft fit in ... ? software + services? surface computing? silverlights? tablets?

(And how 'soon') ??

12 Things That Make Us All So Much Excited About The iPhone Launch, Today .. & In The Past ... :-)

What makes us so much excited about the iPhone launch these days, as well as in the past?

3. The interactions & the exciting talk-abouts ...

4. The presentation ...

5. The experience ...

6. The inspiring, exciting, innovating, educating great ads ..

112_Things_That_Make_Us_All_So_.zip (308 KB)

7. The style, pattern and gesture of the great ads ...

8. The intriguing fascinating websites ...

9. The 'awesome' ness of the device itself ... (innovation, design and brand combined) ...

10. The stores (and the 'huge experience' it brings) ...

212_Things_That_Make_Us_All_So_.zip (1705 KB)

11. The massive excitement of being at front of the great innovative movement ...

12. The deepest excitement of being supportive to a great, cool, fascinating cause ...

Products with exciting groundbreaking innovation and deep great cause seem to always bring so much impact and excitement to people, society and masses as a whole. iPhone -- the product, the brand, the cause, the prentation, the leader, the introduction, the attitude, the experience and the launch itself -- seems to have it all, which makes the 'magic' happen even greater.

Would something similar once again happen to the Google phone's (next) launch? -- on a global, massive scale ??

We will see, study, observe and watch ... :-)

Advertising Without (Bombastic) Talk Attached

Advertising_Without_Talking.zip (1178 KB)

In doing 'great advertising without (bombastic) talk attached', VW, Nike, Apple and Louis Vuitton is definitely the master of the art and craft! Their advertising copy is consistently clear, direct, simple, factual, fact based, and no bombastic claim attached. These are 'things' that make their message so effective, their posture so iconic, and their brand so much loved.

The Mac "Museum" ...

The_Mac_Museum_....zip (1999 KB)

It was told by Alex Patsay that somewhere in Moscow, they had one of the biggest collections of old Mac (and NeXT) hardware and software in the world.
Imagine if people around the world could collect their Apple, Mac, NeXT and iMacs that they no longer use in once place, and arrange it by time, ... then we will perhaps be able to see the fascinating 'history', 'story' and 'evolution' of hardware, software, and computer design -- of one the most iconic icon, in the great innovation history of computing -- across time! :-)

Gartner: iPhone Sales WW Exceed Windows Mobile Sales WW For The First Time!

Latest news according to Gartner and Endgadget:

- Nokia maintaining its numero uno status with 42.4% market share, though it did recognize a rare decline in sales of 3% year-on-year.
- RIM, its BlackBerry phone sales increased an amazing 81.7% in Q3.
- Finally, "for the first time (meaning in this quarter), iPhone sales exceeded sales of Microsoft Windows Mobile devices worldwide and in North America,"
- and beyond that, "open-source initiatives like Android and Symbian Foundation [are set to] challenge Windows Mobile's licensing model in the short-term."

It is proven again and again that Mr. Ball*** can not just 'pooh pooh' the competition like he did couple of months ago (see: to see how bad and unrealistic Mr. Ball** 'pooh pooh act' was!). He need to answer with real innovation in hand.
Consumer truly knows products that increasingly getting 'complicated', ineffective, retarded, 'arrogant' and 'sucks', ... versus products that truly passionate and great.
