The 'Future' Of Cloud Computing ...

Cloud Computing: Initially people would (experimenting) using cloud computing for storage, sharing and stuff. Eventually we will use it for work, in the truest collaborative sense.

Take a look at the data:

Amazon Remembers -- Pretty Awesome!

It was told that Amazon had a new innovative service in their arsenal. It looks like this:

Looking at that, my prediction:

  1. Initially Amazon remembers what you like ...
  2. Later on perhaps Amazon (immediately) provides what you like ...
  3. Then Amazon deliver it "just in time".

Pretty awesome!

Where Does Microsoft Fit In ?

Perhaps 'now' is one of the most challenging era for Microsoft.

At the front-end (cool consumer device, mobile internet front-end, portable client computer, smart phone) they are facing Apple, at the back-end (search, cloud computing, internet ad business) they are facing Google.

How would Microsoft fit-in, into the groundbreaking computing trend of the future? Or are we start seeing the early sign of the 'possible birth' of the 'next dinosaur' ??

Some 'thinking slides' attached:

Where_Does_Microsoft_Fits_In.zip (392 KB)

Quick draft narration to the slides:

  • Slide 1: There's change coming, and everybody have to relook their option.
  • Slide 2: Yet, dinosaurs (tend to) persist, they said the 'meteor' is not coming.
  • Slide 3: Microsoft might seriously need to change the world once more, if not they are doomed.
  • Slide 4: Apple is a great possible option.
  • Slide 5: Google + Apple is even a bigger, greater possible option, ever!

How would Microsoft fit in ... ? software + services? surface computing? silverlights? tablets?

(And how 'soon') ??

Unfix-able Trouble At Microsoft ?!??

Nobody believes that Microsoft had an 'innovation' problem. I happened to say it since a few year back, most people (naturally) won't believe it, ... yet Microsoft indeed seem have a deep big innovation problem.
While Mr. Ball*** keep busy 'pooh pooh' ing the competitor at the outfront, the key fact remain: Microsoft innovation stalled, and no Ballmeristic bombastic 'statement' can hide that. Within the past few years Microsoft product become lame, it's innovation becomes lauzy.

Bill Gates might know that unless Microsoft react fast, the internet innovation and significant development might make Microsoft obsolete. Hence perhaps where the Ray Ozzie presence becomes important.
But the key question remain: could Ray Ozzie save the 'boat' ? He's no Bill Gates after all.

I sincerely still believe Bill Gates needs to be back.

NetFlix Streaming Is 'Coming Soon' ?!

Imagine this: Hollywood, TV Station or University Lecturer just released their new video, and we -- movie goers, TV watchers, and online students around the globe -- can immediately live stream the program through our TV and watch it in 'real time'.
Such would be imaginatively awesome!

The most amazing thing is: people said that Nextflix is not that far from making such happen, ... very very soon.
What a fascinating digital world we live in!

Wifi On The Plane!

It was reported that today (Nov 23) Virgin America debuts In-Flight Wi-Fi Service For Beta Test in their airlines.

Virgin will charge $9.95 for a flight of up to three hours. The carrier will charge $12.95 for longer flights. The Wi-Fi Internet access won't be filtered for content or applications. The only restriction with the wireless Internet service is VoIP (voice over Internet protocol).

The service will be provided by Aircell Inc. Aircell has mechansisms to manage the shared in-flight bandwidth. This is needed so one user won't overuse bandwidth. Aircell is also working with other carriers to provide Internet access on planes. The company uses its own national network of 3G (third-generation) base stations on the ground.

Now work, life, 'tv' (youtube), social (facebook) and internet truly could be anywhere, anytime. Even on the plane -- during the flight. Awesome innovation!
