Work Is Not A Place, It's An Activity

Work Is Not A Place, It's An Activity -- Cisco.

This is probably one of the most exciting word the computer+communication world ever express and contribute to the world, after the following series of fascinating perspectives:

  • "The Network Is The Computer" -- Sun Microsystems.
  • "Think" -- IBM (Thomas Watson, Sr).
  • "A Computer On Every Desk And In Every Home, Running Microsoft Software" -- Microsoft (in the past, when Microsoft were still small, fun, brave, inspiring, ground breaking, innovative, lead by Bill Gates, and truly exciting).
  • "The Horseless Carriage", "The People's Car, Car For The People" -- Ford (Henry Ford).
  • "It Had To Be Something Different. Something That Nobody Else Was Making", "It's A Sony" -- Sony.

and ..

  • "Think Different" - Apple.

Bite That Apple!

Steve Jobs once said:

During economic down times, we kind of ignore the rest of the world, and out-innovate the rest of the industry. While they're cutting costs and bracing for impact, we're increasing our lead. Our philosophy has always been to pay attention to the top line, and the bottom line will follow. This has seemed to work out pretty well for us.

Now -- beige, dispassionate, "don't care" gadgets/windows and computers: try to beat that Apple!

Steve Jobs - Mac 1984

Apple has many outstanding values and qualities that differentiate it from the rest. Their value system goes beyond just merely creating a "beige computer". Such makes Apple brand so excitingly iconic, loveable and awesome. Their brave, differentiating act also makes the world as a whole, a better place, a more fun, fascinating, exciting, better place to be.

These are what Mac and the Mac brand was all about in 1984.
