Perhaps 'now' is one of the most challenging era for Microsoft.

At the front-end (cool consumer device, mobile internet front-end, portable client computer, smart phone) they are facing Apple, at the back-end (search, cloud computing, internet ad business) they are facing Google.

How would Microsoft fit-in, into the groundbreaking computing trend of the future? Or are we start seeing the early sign of the 'possible birth' of the 'next dinosaur' ??

Recently Google just released a built-in PDF viewer for Gmail. I gave the feature a try. The result is magnificently awesome!

First is the G1 (in the US), then Agora (in Australia), coming soon -- it was said -- is the O-Phone in China.

This is true sign of growing series of fascinating development of Google Android phones, in the marketplace! :-)

The wait is over. Those that live overseas can still buy G1 Developer Edition now.
There'd be one-time setup fee of $25. The device will cost $399 (free shipping in the States).
For G1 developer only for this time ... but still .. Yikes! It's seriously cool approach!

I tried this phone the first time in Hongkong a few weeks ago. Impressive screen rolling mechanism -- very smooth!, and a convincingly comfortable keyboard too. That's all the 'key essential' that I wanted for now for a "smartphone".
But I am not buying it yet now. I thought: an integrated touch feature would make it even better. So I will wait until the next 'better release' come out, and get back doing my everyday calling + SMS-ing on my not-fancy, super-ordinary yet super-thin Nokia phone.
As for internet access and stuff? I attached my MacBook Air to the nearest Wifi, or to the available 3.5G. Such combo does it the best for now. I got my productivity back, keep my 'sanity level' at its peak by avoiding the rush to 'rushly consume the latest blackberry' (because to me it seem that blackberry latest design is not fully well formed nor fully stabilized yet -- these are Blackberrys in transition!), while at the same time keep looking, watching and waiting until the best iPhone+G1 combo-device appear someday, somehow. :-)
